When Ignis and Prompto get together, everyone assumed it's Ignis who's the adult, responsible one and Prompto who's got emotional hangups and baggage.
Turns out Prompto has been in relationships before and is experienced, rational, and with considerable emotional intelligence, regardless of his enthusiasm. Ignis, on the other hand, hasn't ever been close to anyone his age other than Noct and Gladio and certainly hasn't been in spitting distance of a romantic/sexual relationship. Ignis is the one with the weird and frankly often unnerving notions of what he should be like as a boyfriend. Prompto is the one to gently disabuse him of them.
