Ride's first impression upon meeting Reno was that Reno must be protected at all costs. Not because he couldn't take care of himself or lacked any fighting skills, but Rude could see how Reno's loudmouth, snarky personality, fire engine red hair that was begging to be pulled and his rather inappropriate version of the Turks uniform would sway people into trying to do things to Reno

So Rude tends to get overprotective when it comes to Reno, whether they be on a mission or when they had the day off or if sleazeballs like Corneo happen to be in the office, Rude makes sure to keep Reno safe as much as he possibly can
